What does this mean in relation for your being listed? I'm concered for you but don't have much knowledge about how tp s work. Prayers for you, Subject: No News but Bad NewsTo: hepatitiscsupportgroupfordummies Date: Wednesday, November 19, 2008, 12:08 AM Hi guys,I just got an email from my brother. Guest guest
H , What it means is that if I can't find another relative who's willing to donate I'll have to wait until someone matching dies & donates their liver. Did you know that more people die waiting than get a t p? I met one woman on the plane down to Toronto last summer who's been waiting for 4 years! Let's hope my liver holds out 'til they find something.SuZie Ahh Suzie -- I can't imagine the disappointment, etc. that you must be feeling. What does this mean in relation for your being listed? Guest guest
Make sure they put you on the list for a donor now so that there will be time for you to get one. Mine is doing ok now, wish I was close enough to see if mine would help you. Get on that waiting list like right now girl. The world needs you around for a long time yet cause you got so much to offer the future generations. Guest guest
Suzie did you hear on the news yesterday how a woman with cancer in the throat got a new throat with stem cell research and now they figure they can build new organs the same way and no anti rejection drugs after transplant. When it comes to you I just have a good feeling that things are going to work out and that you are going to get that new liver. Make sure you are on the list and see if your community will see about getting crossed matched. I have seen so many communities do that, where they all got tested to see if there was a fit for a living donor. Guest guest
In Toronto and other places there are local drives through the papers for people to get checked to see if they can be a living match for you.I have seen this done so many times.Give the local paper your story on your need for a living donor and perhaps something will come up that way. If other people can do it why can’t the same be done for you. You are special too, everyone is and should have access through a living donor if they are willing. Guest guest
I'm on the list Mama Gail, have been since June, it's just that with a volunteer donor you can be sure of getting the t p & they can schedule it for a convenient time for everybody - doctors too. With a cadaver liver you're never sure you'll get one & if you do it's rush, rush, rush, just a couple hours warning.SuZie If FED EX & UPS merged would they call it FED UP?Subject: RE: No News but Bad NewsTo: HepatitisCSupportGroupForDummies Date: Thursday, November 20, 2008, 11:52 AM Make sure they put you on the list for a donor now so that there will be time for you to get one. Guest guest
I'm checking with my extended family through my cousin the family communicator. My mother had 7 brothers & 7 sisters so there's over 200 descendants spread all over Canada & the U S. (My Dad had only one brother who never reproduced thank the gods) We'll see what happens with that before I go asking people I don't know.SuZie If FED EX & UPS merged would they call it FED UP? Guest guest
Suzie ~~ Oh my...that does put you in a precarious position doesn't it?! I recall that you have had a rough time of it lately and my hopes and prayers are that you will be one of the fortunate ones that get a tp soon. I saw your other email about have so many extended family members and that sounds like a great resource for potentially finding just the right match. SpYke needs to be extra kind to you along about now :-). Keep your chin up and never give up hope! Ahh Suzie -- I can't imagine the disappointment, etc. that you must be feeling. Guest guest
My dear friend, I know something good will come out of this and that things are going to work out for you. You sure have lots of family to check and you are staying in my prayers until you have a successful surgery. Guest guest
Have you seen about a helicoper picking you up if a transplant becomes available. It takes more then two hours to get to Toronto from where you live. There are medical helicopters that can be arranged in a hurry if need be.
