Guest guest
Hey everyone, I have RA as you all know and have had a cold mostly in my head for a week ever since I got four fillings about a week ago. I sound hoarse when I talk and they would not let me take my Humira injection last Friday ( I am worried about that as I could start a flare and don't want to. What do you guys think? Should I go see my GP and see if I am getting a sinus infection? It might be heading that way; I really am not sure. I have been really tired and lethargic and congested in the head with some increased shortness of breath with activity. What do I do? I hate wasting the doctor's time if I don't need to go, but I am still on the Prednisone at 12 mg a day now and my MTX. Plus, my back tooth hurts that he filled, weird huh? Any feedback is appreciated. Uncertain in Maine. Tracie
Guest guest
Tracie, I am definately not a doctor, but this is what my rheumatologist told me about what to expect when I start taking Humira " When people get sick, doctors don't typically need to see them, but people on Humira are not typical and therefore extra precautions must be taken with something as simple as a stuffy nose " I hope you start feeling better soon. kerri sue tracierae143 <tracierae143@...> wrote: Hey everyone, I have RA as you all know and have had a cold mostly in my head for a week ever since I got four fillings about a week ago. Guest guest
First you're not wasting the dr's time - he/she gets paid when you go see them so you are paying for their time! If you think you should go, go in and see them. You know the prednisone lowers your resistance so it's quit possible you are getting some sort of infection. Guest guest
I too have been told not fool around with cold, flu or sinus infection because of taking humeria. In July I went to the Doctor with what I tgought was a sinus infection, and was put in hospital with bi-latial lung infection. Guest guest
Tracie, You should see your GP if you think you're getting a sinus infection. I know you're worried about a flare, but taking Humira with an infection can cause serious, even fatal infections. Don't ever feel like you're wasting a doctors time. You should call your dentist and let him know that the tooth is hurting. I hope you feel better.
