Guest guest
I know, Dreamer, I've seen a lot of teens out in those pajama bottoms. Someone from my generation would never be able to do that, I think. It would be like those nightmares when you dream you're back in school and look down and are in a slip or your underwear or something. On days when my skin is too sensitive for real pants I opt for the overalls. I look plenty goofy in them--I'm a 45-year-old, none-too-slim woman--but you do what you gotta do, right? dreamer_plus <dreamer_plus@...> wrote: YAY nities. LOL. Guest guest
I've been wearing clogs for the last few years, don't have to bend over or tie them up.... Does anyone know of slip ons that aren't for " dress down " type days... not that I ever go anywhere but to the hospital, lol... but doesn't hurt to take a little pride in my appearance now and then nonny46 <nonny46@...> wrote:I bought a nice pair of fleece jammies to wear to & from the hospital for my shoulder surgery. The nurses thought they were so nice! They are lightweight but warm and button down the front so I don't have to pull the top over my head. I found some really nice jeans at Blair--they have a drawstring waist, but it is with about a 2-3 inch soft fabric casing so that it doesn't bind around the waist (where many of those nasty tumors love to gather!) I just wish they had them in different colors. I see all kinds of people out and about in pajama pants and fleece boots, and I think it is hilarious as the kids protest against wearing uniforms to school, but then they like to dress alike... For added comfort, my new favorite shoes are slip-on Skechers, and they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn--plenty of support and style but easy to get on and off. I've started physical therapy, definitely not fun but I will keep up with it to get my arm back into good shape. There was a woman there yesterday who refused to do anything--she is still using a walker 5 months after knee replacement. The therapist said she is well- healed, but just afraid to do anything that might hurt. Well, off to my pulleys, a cup of chai, and time with my babies tonight (Little Bekah said Monday night, " careful with Nonny's owie! " ) Judi

Guest guest
I hear ya . I have been wearing sneakers to every event. I have been doing this for over a decade. I keep my sneakers tied loose so I can just slip them on. Not fun some days but better than trying to tie them when my hands don't want to work or my knee says, " NO WAY are you bending me " ! I have found mules to be a little comfortable if I know I don't have to walk a lot. At least they are easy to get on and they are a little dressier than sneakers. No matter what sneakers I do buy I have to buy them large so I can have room for swelling and putting a pad in. Mules the same thing. The only thing I am thankful for is that I didn't have wide feet to begin with. Before the arthritis hit the feet I was a 6 1/2 AAA. Now I wear an 8 1/2 wide, as wide as I can find them. I did find some heavy duty slippers that could pass for mules at tone. Really comfy inside them. I haven't bought them yet but have been thinking about it. I hate to spend money on shoes and they aren't comfy. Just can't afford to have a shoe store in my closet. I do have a couple events this month and may try the slippers at tone. They will at least match my outfits colorwise. Will let everyone know if I do get them. in Ct. susan smith wrote: > living in wisconsin where it is cooler I love sweatsuits or jogging > suits, I wear them almost everywhere. Guest guest
Ok - I feel so much better! On weekends I live in my pj's. It feels so much better. And I do go out in them. I just buy the capri pants type and no one can be sure they are pj's. I wear a tee on top and I am good for indoors or out. For feet- I wear clogs or sandals. Day in and out. I have a closet full of heels that I cant wear anymore. It hurts too bad on my ankles and my feet- plus with the swelling, forget it. Tonight I got brave and ordered some short boots online- in a D wide and a bigger size. I figure I will give it a try. Jill
