Guest guest
Hi, Everyone........I'm not sure how old Aden is but he really should be seen by a ped gastro doc instead of you treating him. Gastric reflux is very common in DS kids and we found out when Gareth was 10 y/o that his esophagus was like raw meat because we didn't know he had reflux for many years. He's on meds twice a day because his is so bad. Prescription meds will heal the esophagus while decreasing the acid. Desi.....thanks for sharing the *happy news*!!! I always enjoyed watching Gareth with the regular kids, in all his classes, but his PE teachers always told me he gave 100%, all the time, and his peers were always soooooooooo supportive.....no matter what grade it was. Joan....another plus of keeping both insurances is payment for meds. With only one insurance, while we lived in Illinois, we were paying almost $200/month just for our 20% of Gareth's meds. When we moved back to PA, then he got Medical Access again. Like you, we can keep Gareth on for life since he's considered disabled and living at home. Take care, Everyone. Guest guest
Thanks Margaret and Liz for the info. We have an appt tomorrow with the ped and I will definitely ask for a referral to a gastro doc. It's so nice to have other moms to ask about these things. The local moms look at me like I'm crazy when I mention things like this. Hugs Sent from my iPod
