Hi, Everyone........congratulations to Aden (and you) for his

fantastic school award!!!

Liz....I hope DH is doing well. Tell me something....on a scale of 1 - 10

for pain, what was he dealing with? It will give me some idea of what

Gareth endured all summer before they decided to take his gallbladder out.

As for the get together for the group....how about you or I contacting the

McD house in Hershey? That would be a more central location for all

of us in Pa. I don't know if they allow parties and get together but it's

worth a try. They have expanded the one in Hershey....it's huge!!!

Shane.....I tried to copy that article to send to the site and figured it

was too long. Thanks for taking care of it. I know that many Asperger

people see nothing wrong with their behavior(s) and cringe at the thought of

being *fixed* through medication, etc.

Leah....best wishes to you. Does your new hubby have a job out there

already to give some security to the move? Perhaps, you could stay home (for a

change) and be just Mom for a while? Give yourself a break from trying to

work full time and being a supermom. I know that having my Mom only 3 hrs

away is a blessing.....I can easily shoot up to visit or help her for the

day, and then, make it back in the same day if necessary.

Hey, Margaret: Well, he took off from work last Monday cause his stomach

was killing him. Thought he had a virus. During the week, although he

went to work, it was still " not right " and then Thursday night we spent 5+

hours in the ER...He had pain on the left lower abdomen. They did a CT

scan..and told us they saw no changes from his last scan which was done 2

years ago-the stone and the cyst that were there are the same. Well, guess

what-We NEVER KNEW they existed! Anyway, they couldn't put a finger on it,

so labeled it as " constipation " which Mike told them they were nuts. Sat.

morning I called the ambulance for him cause he was at a pain level of

about 12. The same Attending was on, and he ordered an ultrasound. Well,

" nothing out of the ordinary " for him..he consulted with a resident general

surgeon, who consulted with the head surgeon on call, who, in turn, told us

to call his office on Monday and get in to see them and they would figure

things out. This time, at least they gave him some pain meds. Well, we

got into see someone at the surgeon's office Monday afternoon, and this doc

said there was NO WAY he would have let Mike home if he had seen the scan.

The stone was at the neck of the gallbladder. So, since he was not in

awful pain, and the gb was not distended at this point, we scheduled

surgery for Thurs (which was yesterday). When asked what we should do if

it comes back and/or worse, and he said get to the ER. Well, Monday night

at about 10 p.m., after all the poking the doc did earlier in the

afternoon, Mike was almost doubled over in pain, so off to the ER again. I

called the surgeon beforehand and told him we were going in. Surgery was

done Tuesday at noon, and the stone was the size of a golf ball. The doc

had to make the incision larger to just get the stone out. They say he was

very lucky it didn't rupture..food was being totally blocked from passing

through..and it was throwing his liver counts off..He is slowly recouping

right now..but the problem was, the pain was not where it typically is!!!
