Guest guest
Well, I thought our problems were over now that Elie was in his own home in a community where he is well known. I was wrong. Saturday called to say that he and Elie and extended family went to the rodeo. Elie and these people have been going to horse shows all summer , preparing for the rodeo. Elie has mostly enjoyed the shows, sitting in the front row of the bleachers or on the ground in front of them. I don't know how many people attended Rodeo day came and the 'gang' went. There were near 1,000 people at the rodeo. Shortly after the events began, Elie got very agitated. HE couldn't sit, started his panic bleating, couldn't say what the issue was. asked if he wanted to stay or leave - Elie said leave - go to car. So took him to the car, helped him get settled with his comfort item, opened all the windows, and left him . Then went to get the rest of the party who had spread out to see different events. Now Elie is accostomed to sitting in the car and waiting - he does that at sporting events when they overwhlem him. Five minutes later, is paged over the loudspeaker to come to the gate. There sits Elie with a group of 'concerned community members' who work with the 'retarded'. One claimed she found Elie running TOWARDS the rodeo between 2 buildings. Let us say that I am suspicious of her motives since she is part of group from the sheltered workshop about which I have lodged many complaints with the state. Long story slightly shortened, she called the Community Service Board person who as a 'mandated reporter' (she said) then called our support coordinator who of course called me, knowing that I probably knew already. Which I did. I wrote the CSB person and told her that if she knew my son, and knew his support coordinator, she also knew me (and she does) , then she needed to call ME as I am my son's parent. And if she is a mandated reporter, one person removed, what she was doing was reporting hear say. Can you tell I am willing to drive to the mountains, go to this woman, and wring her scrawny, bureaucrat neck????? I am so unhappy with this reional -- Sara- different pathways lead to Nirvana.
