Guest guest
I am posting for a friend, hoping someone here can help. , has Ds, but not Autism. Any input will be appreciated! I have a son who is almost 6 months old. He has been doing really great, however...we have been down at albany medical center due to spasms that he has been having over the last few weeks which have gotten worse. So we came to the emergency room Tuesday night and since then my poor little guy has been through an aray of tests. To make a long story short...they have diagnosed him as having Infantile Spasms. The medication route we are taking is ACTH steriod shots. I was just wondering if anyone in this group has experienced this?? I am very nervous about the shots but it seems to be the medication with the most research to back it up and has shown a high percentage of stopping the spasms. It comes with risks of course that scare the @#% out of me but the spasms are scaring me more! So just wanted to reach out to the DS community. Thanks!
