Hi Kerri:

What you describe is similar to the way my ankles feel

sometimes, like they are sprained, so I think that it

is probably RA related. Is your other foot involved

as well? To be honest, I have pain everyday, just

varies in degree from day to day and joint to joint,

and when I say I am in a flare, that is when the pain

is severe enough that I am unable to do much of

anything except sit still or lay down. There is just

always pain to some degree or another, and has always

been that way. You are not crazy - if you are, then I

am too lol.

You should not have to suffer, but getting your doctor

to give you medication seems to be a problem. I am

lucky in that my rheumy does listen to me, and does

treat my pain. On Tuesday, I had been in such a

severe flare for almost a week (not having been able

to use Enbrel for over a month because of sinus and

upper respiratory infection) that I called her and

asked for Prednisone, and got some, as well as

additional pain meds. Perhaps Prednisone could help

you during this time as well, until you are able to

start your Humira again. I don't take it for long, but

it sure helps in the short term. Your rheumy should be

prescribing your pain meds, and not relying on your gp

to do it for him. Call your rheumy and let him know

how much pain you are in.

Hope you have better days soon -
