Guest guest
Hi Everyone.....Carol....for years, my hubby and I would take turns staying up all night with Gareth. We'd dose off in his bed while he played!!! That was between the ages of 4-10. His Ped suggested Benadryl so that WE could get a good nights rest. Fortunately for us, it worked on Gareth and he would sleep for 5-6 hrs....not all night, but better than up all night!!! When we put him on Risperdal at age 10, he finally slept through the night. Benadryl is good for their nasal passages, too, because it tends to keep them open through the night and they can breath easier. On the down side, he's been off Risperdal since June and we are back to sleepless nights. Unfortunately, the Benadryl doesn't work like it use to but he's older and knows to stay in bed. He can turn on his TV, too, if he wants to watch sports, etc. Back in the old days, we didn't know that sleepless nights were indicative of Autism!!! Take care, Everyone. Guest guest
Yes - so many of our kids have sleep disorders of one kind or another. So sorry for those long lost nights of sleep. Now I am the one who has trouble sleeping. > ** > > > Hi Everyone.....Carol....for years, my hubby and I would take turns staying > > up all night with Gareth.
