He did have a thyroid level done prior to that...thankfully, I keep copies of his lab work so I could go back and look and show his pediatrician. Although his level was " within normal limits " it was on the low side of normal (within a couple of tenths of abnormal). was dx with the hypothyroidism (12/99). I can see that he was on the low side of normal all along. Clinically, he did present symptoms of hypothyroidism, but since he was technically in normal range, it took a doc to really look at the symptoms and decide that he should be on the med.
