Guest guest
Hi, Everyone...I know that there are nurses, doctors, and medically smart people on this site. I desperately need a Dr House. Gareth's pain came back with a vengeance Sunday afternoon. I had him in to the PCP Monday and he did a mess of blood work....CBC, SED rate, enzymes, lipids, thyroid. I haven't heard from him since then and I know that means everything was normal. This kid is in soooooooooooo much pain, low grade fever, and still losing weight. He's down 18 #'s now since June 1. The PCP doesn't think it's *pleurisy* but digestive related. I went on line Monday and found diets for Gall bladder disease but he's still in pain on that diet. Basically, he can't eat anything, and doesn't want to eat, because he knows it will be painful afterward. What can it be?!?!? Blood work is negative, gallbladder ultrasound is normal, Endocsopy is normal, CT scan of abdomen is normal, Chest X-Ray is normal, TB test negative. This kid isn't faking the extreme pain and I'm not making it up (like the looks from the docs indicate). He's got those immunology deficiencies but no one seems to care that he's had a low grade fever for over two weeks now. Any ideas and suggestions would GREATLY be appreciated....no matter how *off the mark* they are. Email privately if you want. I even took him off the Amantadine thinking that was the cause but it obviously isn't since he hasn't had it since Aug 1. Take care, Everyone, Margaret Mom to Gareth, 23 y/o, DS/ASD/OCD
