Guest guest
Sara, I love what Elie has with . I wish that was something that would work/happen for . 's home now is quite good. He has a home that he shares with one other fellow who is near his age. They have 24/7 awake staff. The same agency provides his day services. The director worked with him in our home when was young so they are very bonded and have a great time together. loves going to festivals and riding a side by side bike that has an electic assist. He skips work and goes places with a staff person and his old teachers from high school whenever his old class goes somewhere. This helps him get to swim because he isn't successful swimming with his residential staff but he is successful swimming with his school staff. So, the res. staff take him with the school group. His residential staff care a great deal about . He continues though to run relationships into the ground and we haven't found a way to stop this trend. What I miss is going down a hallway and everyone knowing him and saying hi. I loved so many teachers who had special " things " that were just them and . I just feel that sense of community is missing now in his life. It is my goal to start a recreational group where they meet at different places a couple of times a week. loves to bowl and could use some bowling buddies. So, they could meet at the lanes and who ever wants to bowl can. Anyway, I love what Elie has and what has is way heads above what most others have but I want that community more.
