Hang in there, Kerri Sue. The older you get the more you'll learn about your

disease and what works and what doesn't. Also, they are constantly doing

studies and coming up with new drugs and new information. You'll find ways of

coping and you'll gradually develop friendships that are more helpful. You'll

learn to appreciate the good days and live them to the fullest. You'll develop

a character and a compassion far superior to other people your age. You'll find

things that make you feel better--sometimes even little things. For example,

when I'm really hurting I get out a big poster board and glue and scissors and

just sit and cut pictures out of books and magazines and scrapbook supplies and

I make collages and pray and listen to music. Every few minutes I get up and

stretch gently. I realize that migraines are more problematic than joint pain

because they are so RIGHT BEHIND YOUR EYES WHERE YOU LIVE. But there are a lot

of medications that might help you for those. Please

don't despair. You can have a lot of joy mixed in with the pain. Keeping a

journal might help, too. Write down all of your questions and uncertainties

and, as you get answers, write them down. Then when you're discouraged you can

look back and see how far you've come. Please feel better.

Ok, so I know motrin and methotrexate are a no-no mixed together... I usually

take about 2,000 mgs of motrin a day for my low-grade migraines... my other

migraine meds are too strong for the constant headache, so I take motrin for

them, what should I take now? Is there something out there that would work for

me?

I'm having a bad day today. I'm tired and hurting and frustrated and I keep

thinking if this is what life's like at 28, then what am I supposed to do at 58,

68... should I even expect to live that long? I have so many questions boiling

around in my head and when I try to answer them all the answers stink. I hope

you all are having good days.

Kerri,

You should ask your doctor what you can take. I take an herb feverfew.

When I was your age and going through terrible days, trying to take

care of 2 young children and in severe pain, I often wondered the

same thing. I'm 51 now and I have to tell you that my life is better

than I ever expected it to be in spite of daily pain. It is much

better thanks to meds that help. I hope when you reach my age, you

can say the same thing. I know it can be hard when you're having a

bad day. I hope you feel better.

Dear ,

Thank you. I'm 30 but my bones feel 80. I've always wondered, like Kerry, how

difficult things will be when I'm older. I can't tell you how much your words

have helped. Thanks again.

Regards,

Smita
