That's scary! Ummm....maybe we will move to VA!!!!!! >> Or you could move to Philly. We only have crime and graffiti. LOLOL Only kidding. I love my home town big city!! Gail, that is incredible about the kids in your town dying of cancer. If it really is rampant, someone should bring it to the attention of the press, since obviously the government isn't doing anything about it. Is it just children? Is it environmental? Obviously, it needs to be investigated. I think you should move right along with Margaret!!!! Did you watch Brockovitch? You guys need one of her I think!! I'm confused...is that like black, dirty or African American color of your skin? Either way that is not a person I would let be around my child! Some people definitely don't deserve our kids! Donna >> Oh Donna, It has been in the national news and we have, and are still having, investigation after investigation here. The school was built on a toxic waste site. Our wonderful city government got the land for $1.00. DUH!!!!!!! There is a pond on the site that never freezes. There has been some clean-up at the site, but the sports fields are still closed to the school and public. Now, mind you, there is a children's sand park that is right next to the sports field, that is still open!!! They have decided to send out questionnaires to all the former students to get a more accurate count on the cancer numbers. They are only going by the cases that are still residing in this area. Yes, I have seen the Brockovitch movie. You're right. We need one of her here, because every meeting that is held, the state says everything is okay. Well, it's not when you see the kids dying. It's hard to watch your friends and their kids suffer like this, and wonder if your child is next. My daughter is still ignoring her bad pap smear, which could be nothing. She is scared like all her classmates. The state did say that the testicular cancer rate at the school is higher than normal, but not due to the school. OKAY...... must be contagious then! As bad as this is here, I still love the area. Oh, and with the two prisons here and their families moving here, we also have our share of crime! Someone that moved here from the inner city of Philly, told me this is worse! LOL In my little corner of this area, on my street, in my house....I feel safe. Gail >> Gail, That was black, as in dirty. :-( IF, and that is a big IF, that kid didn't understand her, I did. Why couldn't she just wash the dirt off when she washed the paint off and keep her mouth shut? Who is she to judge? That is what she was doing. What does she think, that the autism stops at 2:00 and he goes home and has a normal life? Maybe the kid is afraid of bathes. Maybe his parents were up all night with him running around barefoot and were too worn out to wash his feet before school. Really makes me wonder, if she said something like that when I was there, what in God's name does she do or say without a parent there? I really need a break from these ignorant idiots! Teacher, yeah, right. Gail too, two, well, the other one! LOL
