Guest guest
So we got in to the endocrine clinic. It's hashimotos. But they are not putting him on anything for it. They've said that when the antibodies release it's likely the case of his psychotic outbursts. His Free T4 is 1.3 which is within the normal range. TSH is .0007 which is well below the normal range of .350-5.0 Total T3 = 1.45 which is within the normal range - so this is why they say they are not putting him on anything. BUT his thyroid antibodies are 1240.4 when normal is 60. I'm a little frustrated - and I just wish they would take the thyroid out b/c I can't live wondering when his thyroid is going to release antibodies and since we have no warning it's not like I can just have him go to his room to avoid everyone getting punched, etc. Hashimoto moms out there - what do you think? Did you have to monitor labs every two weeks for months before they medicated your kids for hashimotos? If this is what's causing this craziness for him I'm happy we've found it but now we need to do something to stop it. On a happy note, he's doing really, really good at the inpatient neuro hospital where he at. Even in their school. Thanks, Becky
