Guest guest
Have to vent again..STILL: Tori is really out of whack the last few days...REFUSING TO WALK, hasn't eaten 3 full meals in 3 days...and I am at my wits end. She has been quite mobile since surgery but for some unknown reason to us, this weekend has proven extremely difficult. Mike & I went away for the weekend on Friday, and our 25 yo babysat her for us. Sunday she took her to Mc's and when they arrived back home, she TOTALLY REFUSED to get out of the car. called us after trying for 45 minutes in the dead of heat to ask us what to do. We told her to be as aggressive as need be to get Tori out of the car and into the house. She was finally able to do so. Sunday we went to a family picnic and she stopped/dropped/flopped 3 times before we made it to the back patio..and once through the door, dropped and stayed there for 3 hours...with no food/no drink. Needless to say it took 5 adults to carry her out to the car. Not sure why, but she can not be motivated at all the last 24 hours, and was not able to attend camp because she dropped and refused to get up..and remained in the same spot for 2.5 hours. When she finally decided to get up and go to the bathroom, she got there on her own. Once she finished toileting, and washed her hands, she turned and dropped to the floor again. I turned off the light and left her there. She no sooner got up, and walked to her bedroom where she has remained since. Has not once asked for food or drink, which as you well know is NO WHERE typical for her. Dr. Wells was very impressed with the recovery she had made at her follow-up on the 7th.. Have other kids like Tori reacted like this to surgery? Not sure where to go from here. I will be doing bloodwork for Thyroid levels and other hormone levels as long as I can get her there. I can no longer lift with her, and I sprained my wrist on Sunday trying to get her up and have aggravated it a bit more the last 2 days. Her Behavioral Staff has no answers!. I just shot an email off to her Dev. Ped., to see what she says..and also have a lab slip to get her thyroid & other hormone levels checked..but doubt I will be able to get her to the lab to do them Wondering if I should contact Capone as well... -- *Liz DeSantis * Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt. - Special Olympics Motto-RIP Eunice Kennedy Shriver “When we long for life without difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure.-Author Unknown " Knowing trees, I understand the meaning of patience.
