Guest guest
Beth, Glad to here your good news. 's constant need for movement has lessened as he has gotten older but he still does a solid hour of bouncing on an exercise ball with loud music each day. His abs are like rocks. He also has time at his day program for jamming with his program director. Daily gross motor activity is a necessity for . That is probably why he is a buff 120 lbs at five feet tall. The challenging behaviors continue. I don't remember if I shared here but at 17 1/2 he remodeled a group home to the tune of a few thousand dollars and came home to Mom for a few months. That is how he earned his way into his elite living situation. When something rocks the boat, like a new staff person that he just doesn't feel comfortable with, he will still resort to extreme behaviors. There are only a few staff that have lasted for more than a year or two working with him. The relationship starts to erode and behaviors start to increase. I don't know why. So, at 22 years old, I still give him time to mellow. Karyn
