Guest guest
Whoa, a lot of stuff can happen on the list in just a few days. I regret not being able to answer so many of these terrific posts in a more timely fashion, but- Cyndi, I am SO sorry that is still struggling. Your poor guys need a big break. Sending prayers and hugs for better days. Lori, congratulations on Tony's honor! It's funny, but I was always suspicious the few times Pete received some award or another. I suspect there was some genuine meaning behind them, but by that time I was having to watch every little thing that the SD was doing, I became pretty paranoid....Still, Tony deserves his moment of glory, and I am so happy for that! DJ- well Kris, you continue to share the most amazing things about what you can figure out for him, and I love your " Martian " description, because it is so apt. (Not to mention, hysterically funny.) Congrats on paving the way for DJ's high school program, and congrats to DJ for his great grades! (Hey, just enjoy them. We know they are playing a numbers game, and none of it makes much sense, but still, you know he's worked hard. . Hope you don't have to fight for every little tiny thing,. But it sounds like DJ's got some amazing skills- especially on the computer. I suspect he just needs some folks from school who are tuned into his abilities there who can help him use them to his advantage. And I hope things go well with your DH's health issues. Keep up the good work. Zeb, CONGRATULATIONS- you did it! I love that he got an award, Charlyne, and I was delighted that he had someone on staff who was going to celebrate all that he'd done to make it through HS. I'll be following how you work out his post HS years with great interest, as this next year is Pete's " up-and out " year, although he'll be 21. Gareth, thanks for giving us all some hope that things can turn around. Margaret, I am so thrilled to hear that Gareth continues to reappear! Please take lots of little video clips to document how he is improving- you will be glad to have them to show doctors or others who question the efficacy of his new medication. (One of the things I have noticed from looking at our little videos of Pete is that he is very " slack-mouthed " now in most of them. I am sure it's from meds, and it makes me sad, but for the time being, we'll keep on eye on things since he is doing better with the manic swings being less problematic right now.) Margaret, what a creepy thing that must have been to read about the assistant superintendent. How horrible for you to have all those bad memories surfacing. I hope you can let them go and remind yourself that by warning the current special ed director, you've done what you can and move on to enjoying the now with Gareth. To all the Dads on the list (I know there are at least a few) and all those Dads who are present and caring in our kids' lives, and our own Dads (or to their memory)- Have a wonderful Father's Day! God bless us, Every One- Beth 20 y/o Pete's Mum Westerville (Columbus) OH Home of storm after storm after storm after rainy soggy windy lightening-singed storm.
