What I assumed happened is that your district had him listed as homeschooled

even though you had legally enrolled him in the school system. The district just

skewed their data. Yes, your district is out of compliance.

Charlyne, You are incorrect. My son was enrolled in the school system and

hospital homebound paperwork was given to the school by the doctor. The doctor

even had to give a depositio deeimng my so hospital/homebound. He was not

homeschooled for the school year 2010/2011. Sorry you had misinformation

somehow.

The school is so far out of compliance with state and federal laws and has beeen

for quite some time.

I understand that they knew but they skewed their reporting data to the state.

Charlyne,

Nah! There have been too many attorneys involved and too many meetings. They

were/are very aware of his homebound status. They had the doctor's deposition

and all the homebound forms from doctors.

They knew. They just refused to provide.

However, they are playing the " we did not know card " , but I have tape recordings

of the meetings...they knew...they are just a sorry excuse for a school system.

Wow I really want to say that you are a champion mom fighting for your kids and

others yet to come. & nbsp;We moved from one really bad district to another

because I couldn't stand the fight. & nbsp;Good luck and thank you for taking a

stand.

I am leaving my home and it will have to go into foreclosure as I can't

sell it for anywhere near what I bought it for, even with all the

improvements, so that I can move to a city about l hour from us, for the school

district. The school dist. broke my little girls arm when she was 5. She is

now

10 and we are still waiting for trial. I was the only one in this school

dist. that won the due process, ever.

Therefore, she has been attending a private autism school. This was really

the only settlement I wanted, but the dist. has put up a fight, so here we

are. She has done perfect in the Autism Center, but their time to pay is

now up. I can't let her go to the school dist. as this has been on the

front page of our newspaper a number of times. Beside that, they still haven't

had enough and feel changes aren't necessary unless monetarily productive

for them.

Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents.

I can understand as parents we will do what it takes for our kids. & nbsp;I am so

sorry ur daughter had to experience & nbsp;that. & nbsp;Our precious kids deserve

instructors and paras that know what they are & nbsp;doing. We & nbsp;are barely

getting by but moving into this school district was the best thing I could do

for CJ. & nbsp;Good luck to you .

Best Wishes!

& amp;gt; & amp;gt; & amp;gt;

& amp;gt;

& amp;gt; & amp;gt;

& amp;gt;

& amp;gt; & amp;gt; & amp;gt; In response to what you have written (very

well, I

might add :), I want to post a letter that I received from the Georgia DOE

regarding my *enrolled* son. The school systems have to REQUEST funding

formm the state in order to get it. The schools who do not want to provide the

services will simply not request the funding (proof with be uploaded in the

files if I can...if not, I will copy paste here).

& amp;gt;

& amp;gt; & amp;gt;

& amp;gt;

& amp;gt; & amp;gt; & amp;gt;

& amp;gt;

& amp;gt; & amp;gt;

& amp;gt;

& amp;gt; & amp;gt; & amp;gt; I agree with why you said IDEA was created. My point

is

that with so many schools closing around the country and so many people having

to fight so darn hard (and many cannot because they hold full time jobs

outside of that full-time job of fighting), I see that schools are still

trying to not provide the basic education for our kids with special needs. They

are trying and some winning to force our kids out of the system.

& amp;gt;

& amp;gt; & amp;gt;

& amp;gt;

& amp;gt; & amp;gt; & amp;gt;

& amp;gt;

& amp;gt; & amp;gt;

& amp;gt;

& amp;gt; & amp;gt; & amp;gt; Is it working? For some, yes. For others, they die

trying

and by the time their child is 21, they are very tired (like you).

& amp;gt;

& amp;gt; & amp;gt;

& amp;gt;

& amp;gt; & amp;gt; & amp;gt;

& amp;gt;

& amp;gt; & amp;gt;

& amp;gt;

& amp;gt; & amp;gt; & amp;gt; I will try to upoad the file and I will label it as

FUNDING

NOT REQUESTED.
