Guest guest
When in our teens, my sister had horrid cramps. She used to miss school and cry and lie in bed and she was miserable. Pain would radiate down her body in waves. The symptoms mellowed a bit in her 20's. I remember one Dr recommended birth control pills to reduce the symptoms. So definitely explore the PMS angle thoroughly. Sent on the TELUS Mobility network with BlackBerry Strange symptoms, Ideas? I hope you don't mind me posting this for one of the kids in our local group who is having a tough time with her health! Kathleen is 13, Ds, and Moyamoya, a disease that caused several strokes when she was around 2. She had surgery to help prevent more strokes, and has not had any more strokes! She is still dealing with the effects of the strokes, weakness, etc. There was an earlier post, but I am not able to find it. Any thoughts you can offer will be appreciated. Joni, Nick, 13 Schuylerville, NY Past emails/symptoms 4/21 Thank you all for your prayers. I'ts certianly been a real rollercoaster ride this week! Kathleen's neurologist sent us back to the ER wanting to admit her again. By the time we got to the ER she was looking pretty good (and of course she smiles at everyone who talks to her). This has been how it goes by afternoon she seems to feel better. The pediatrician did some extensive blood work testing all her major organ functions and they were good, he did a urine test and that was good. I guess they're thinking it's still form the Diarhea she had 3 weeks ago. We got home late last night. She's in bed still, she woke up at 7 but wants to go back to sleep. We have to follow up with her primary care dr. I talked with the pediatircian there and thought it was a good idea to have her tested for celiac disease when we see her dr. Thanks again... 4/26 Thanks Joni, she's doing better. We saw the PC dr. yesterday and we have lots of ideas of what was going on but no clear cut answer. At least she's doing better though. Sge went to school today and I was confident that they would keep a close eye on her. I picked her up at half day. We wll see the neurologist in a couple weeks and probably hear back from the neurosurgeon when he reviews the disl. Thanks again for your prayers and concern. Grace 5/9 Not sure if you remember the problems Kathleen had been having from my post a few weeks ago. She seemed to be getting better for a few days. Monday she started the crying unconsolable and holding her belly again. It got worse as the week went on. She missed a lot of school being late or coming home early. She really wanted to go to school. Saturday she cried ALL day unconsolable wanted a warm towel on her belly and for me to rub her back. She didn't eat much all day and never got out of bed. Later in the day I went to the market and my DH called and wanted to take her back to the ER. It had gotten worse. By the time I got home she was on the tiolet crying and had aweful diarhea. this continued all night I had to give ehr a bath twice because she even did it in her sleep. She also got her period. this seems to be the common thread I was looking for, her period. I'm thinkng it may be related to ehr period hormones in some way. I feel so aweful for her she's been in such pain on and off for over a month with only a week or so of good days. She woke up and was pretty quiet this all day Sunday putting warm towels on her belly and rubbing her back. She napped a bit and didt' eat much all day. I plan on calling her primary Dr. this morning and talk about what our next step is. Last month this was only the beginning. The pain lasted for weeks after her epriod and diarhea and she was dizzy.Of course I've googled all this and it can be directly be related to period hormones or a pituitary problem. She woke up and still wanted warm towels on her belly and still in bed. ------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------------- Checkout our homepage for information, bookmarks, and photos of our kids.
