Dr. Cody, parent of a child with Down syndrome, will present and discuss the protocol her son has been on for five years. The mother from Houston, Texas, and hundreds of other families have seen significant improvements in their children's memory and learning as a result. Dr. Cody has been affiliated with the Stanford Down Syndrome Research Center, whose groundbreaking work with a DS mouse model, led Dr. Cody to develop this therapy for significantly improving the memory and cognition in people with DS. In addition, Joanne Mothes, a national expert from Columbus, Ohio, who has been teaching reading and math to children with Down syndrome for more than 38 years, will discuss the profound effect the Changing Minds protocol has had on her students and in their ability to learn reading and math. Tyler Bourque a local young man who has Down syndrome and lost all developmental milestones has been on parts of the protocol for a few weeks and has made great strides.
