Guest guest
Sandie, I'm sorry you're going through such a hard time. It's bad enough to cope with this disease, but to have lousy medical care makes it even worse. I can't imagine why a rheumatologist would be giving you a pap test. That is the first I've ever heard of one wanting to. I'm surprised his nurse didn't find this odd. If you're close to Naples and want the name of a good doctor, write to me off list paula54@... Mine has no problem prescribing vicodan. The first one I went to wouldn't prescribe anything but Ultram either. He wanted me to go to a pain management doctor to get the same meds I'd taken for years before moving here. He had my records and could see that I'd been on them for a long time, but refused to prescribe them. Antidepressants may help with both depression and pain. I hope he will consider them for you. Good luck with the hurricane. I hope it spares you. I'm in the bulls eye as of last update, so we're praying it changes course. Guest guest
a, Oh I must have written it wrong- my GP was prescribing me the Lortab and he was going to do the pap. Sorry about that. My rheumy only prescribes ultram or darvocet and that just makes me tired. Well, I go to him on tuesday and the oncologist on Monday. Tuesday I will explain how I am feeling and ask for the lortab the nurse said under no circumstances does he prescribe vicoden. I will take what I can get. When I heard back from his office 2 days ago after the nurse telling me about my wbc count and me explaining how I have been feeling she called me back and said he wanted me to have bloodwork done(DUH- I did that already and that was the reason for the call to begin with) Then said to go on the prednisone. I told her I was not having a flare and then she sounded even more confused and said she would put my file on his desk and call me back. Here it is 2 days later and no call. This is what is so frustrating. The pain we are in is minimized so much and when we finally speak of it it falls on deaf ears. oh well, tuesday it is and if that doesnt work I will ask my new pcp to send me to the last rheuny in my health plan. wish me luck. no I do not live near Naples, I live near Daytona Beach. I hope you fare the storm ok- I am just fed up with all these hurricanes. Take care and thanks for the advice. oh- if i am not being too personal- what antidepressant were you on? Guest guest
Knowing me I probably read it wrong. My mind has been elsewhere the last few days. I just wish the darned hurricane would stop stalling and get out of here. I hope you can find a good doctor. It's frustrating to deal with doctors that we feel don't care or don't listen. There are many good ones out there, but it can be a challenge to find them. I was on zoloft for a few years and also Trazadone. The Trazadone was to help me sleep and it worked like a charm. It helped me to get back into a normal sleep cycle. I don't take either anymore but wouldn't hesitate to take them again if I felt I needed it. a On Oct 21, 2005, at 1:55 PM, slmcc93@... wrote: > a, > > Oh I must have written it wrong- my GP was prescribing me the > Lortab and he > was going to do the pap. Guest guest
, My old PCP was against it but I have a new PCP and an appointment with him on Nov 17th. I will be asking hom about that. Tomorrow is the rheumy- I had to cancel the oncologist today due to the weather. I wanted to ask the rheuny anyway- why he wants me to see that doc. I have a Lot to ask tomorrow and got my mother in law to watch the kids so I am going in with big questions hopefully he will answer them, give me some type of pain meds that work and help me with a med that works as well no small task huh??LOL Say a prayer that I get some relief soon.
