Saturday wedding

Last Saturday our youngest daughter got married and I had the job of walking

her down the aisle. She was absolutely radiant! I was hurting so bad, I was

just a drag. While waiting, someone brought me a chair. I certainly needed

it! Then I think she walked me rather than me walking her. I sat down

through the ceremony and then had Betty rush me back home. I hit the couch

while she went to the pharmacy to get my latest med. I didn't think I was

that bad until I saw pics of the ceremony. My face was full of pain, and not

even a hint of a smile. I'm feeling better as the days go on, but missed a

lot by 'not being there'. It's a shame there aren't any do-overs.

Dennis,

I know it is so hard to have a good time when in pain. I seem to feel

that way all the time. I try to get out of everything, or if I do go,

I'm waiting to leave. I know your daughter was so beautiful, and all

she wanted was her Dad to be there, and you made it down that aisle.

Don't beat yourself up Dennis, your daughter loves you, and always

know that. Please, know that I understand, and here if you need to

talk some time, hugs Tawny

Dear Dennis,

Congratulations on your daughter's marriage, and I'm sorry you were in

so much pain. But you know what? Your daughter was probably just

happy that you were there with her. I didn't have a father growing up,

so I know she was happy. I hope your med is helping you now though.

Hi Dennis. I lost my father in 1991. I got married in 2002 and would have

given anything to have my father there. My father was a bilateral below the

knee amputee, was a diabetic, and had a terrible heart ailments, but it

wouldn't have mattered to me if they had to bring him in in his bed. Just to

have him there would have meant the world to me. I idolized my father, and

it broke my heart he wasn't there physically to walk me down the isle, but I

know he was there spiritually. So trust me when I say....your daughter was

very happy you were there to share her special day with her.

Best wishes to all
