Hi Louise,

Thanks for your email.  I am sorry to hear about 's choking episode.  Poor

guy must have been traumatized.

My parents are hanging in there, but it is definitely taking its toll.  My

father has the attitude that keeps them young.  My mother is definitely

burned out and also has many health issues herself.  They definitely need help

in the house, but are reluctant to get it.  I have been spending several

days/week there.  I'm surprised my husband hasn't divorced me yet!!  Luckily,

he

is understanding.  And we've only been married two years.

I'm glad that has a good residential situation.  Good luck at today's

meeting!

Irene

Hi Irene,

Thanks for the update on . I've wondered how things are going with

you all. How are your parents doing?

Today is 's annual staffing and I am expecting it to go well. In

December he had his second choking episode this time at the workshop.

Heimlich, 911 but no ER. His 1-1 wasn't with him at lunch, and immediately

that was resolved but it took some time during the holidays to be sure all

were on the same page. 's residential director runs the annual staffing

and she is wonderful and we keep each other informed what is going on.

Margaret,

Thanks for your well wishes for . We are making slow progress. He

insists on going out, which is great. The problem is, he has tremendous

fear

when he gets out. Today, despite all the snow, which he is frightened of,

he

insisted on going to Mc's. When he got to the door, though

frightened, he

got down the steps and into the car. When we got to Mcs, he attempted

to

get out of the car several times, but was too scared. And when we arrived

back

home, he was afraid to get out of the car, so we had to give him some

Ativan,

which took 40 minutes to work and he finally came out, with a lot of

support. A psychologist will be coming to the house 2 times/week for 1/2

hour

each time, starting next week. Its not a lot of time, but I am hoping this

will

help.

I hope the change to Luvox works for Gareth.

All the best,

Irene
