I have a 13 year old DS/autistic non verbal son that has on been on various meds

for anxiety and none have worked. He has recently become more aggressive and

his anxiety has gone through the roof. The neurologist has suggested effexor.

Anyone out there have any feed back on this med.

thank you

, We have tried everything that is out there. What has helped the most for

my son is the gf/cf diet, supplements, P5P with mag, and meds together. Meds

alone did not help. I will tell you that whenever my son is in pain or their is

an issue in his life the behaviors will return for a short period of time. My

son is currently cutting teeth at 15 yrs old and he has been a real stinker and

being on a school break like Christmas break always through s him out of wack.

P5P is a type of a b-6 vitamin. In order to absorb the most b you have to have

magnesium. I read Dr. Bernard Rimland's study about person with severe behaviors

and he had great results with research he did using major doses of B-6. There

was a man that was about to be thrown out of his 3rd or 4th residence because

they could not get his behaviors under control however after using high does of

b-6 the man became very calm. Here is a link about the research. Cyndi B

I buy them from Wellness Pharmacy in Birmingham Alabama. They are capsules and I

bet you could open and sprinkle in his food or drink. However always ask a

pharmacist before doing any adjusting of supplements. Some things are time

released and you are not supposed to do that with time release. Wellness has

pharmacist that can assist with any questions. Cyndi B
