Quilts ~ for you all

A thousand years ago,

My Grandma made a quilt

Of the softest flannel and

The purest love...

And when the leaves began to fall,

And the fog settled in so deep and chilling,

Her quilt, and her love,

Would envelope me with

Warmth, with sweet affection, with peace,

As though her soft, loving arms were

Always embracing this

Tired and sad little girl...

Now, your friendship has

Made a quilt ~

Of the tenderest emotions and

The kinship of truest empathy,

And when my bones are frozen with pain,

And sleep eludes me in the depth of the night,

Your quilt of love

Envelopes me with compassion, with hope,

As though you are here by my side,

Always embracing this

Tired and weary woman...

How blessed I am!

Loved then...

Loved now...

Cherished then...

Cherished now...

Never really alone ~

With her quilt,

And your quilt,

Tenderly embracing this

fragile but strong woman.

With gentle hugs for all...
