My Tony had an " outer - inner " ear infection twice and blood came out of his

ears. At the time we think he had tubes. He was tubed 3 times in foster

care and then none since he came home to us. We were never quite sure when

he lost the tubes though we think one was lost during one of these

" outer-inner " ear infections. It is quite alarming the first time you see

it.

Good luck

Yes, this happened to DJ several times -even long after having tubes

placed. My suggestion is to take your child to the ped. doctor if you cannot

get into the ENT. If your child is not showing any distress, it is ok to wait

until tommorrow. If she is screaming in pain go to the ER.

Try not to worry, your doctor will be able to tell you what the blood

represents.

Hugs,

Kris

Call the doctor right away and tell him the amount of blood, the color and

consistency of the blood and other drainage, as well as which ear or ears it is

coming from.

Also, take your child's temperature (either on the forehead with a scaner or

underarm with a thermometer and let the doctor know the way you took the

temperature and what it was...fro example, underarm, 97 degrees. Do not add or

subtract anything to compensate for the route you took the temperature.)

Well, i spoke with the ENT nurse this morning and she told me to not worry since

there arent any other symptoms. She told me to never put q-tips in the hole of

the ear, which ive been doing for years! and this couldve just caused an

irritation since I was pushing wax back into the ear. I like to put q-tips in

my ears after a shower bc I dont like the wetness i feel, its gonna be hard for

me not to put q-tips in her ears! but i wont :)

the amoutn of blood was very little, I just got worried bc I have never seen

blood in her ears! There seems to be no other drainage going on....

Since you have said this, I would take my child into to be seen to the doctor to

rule out dislodging the eartube. You might have pushed the tube further into the

middle ear and caused some damage

(since you saw blood).

You should never place anything in your ear except your elbow.
