<<But the bars on the windows seem like a hazard to fire escape.>>

Hi, Everyone....We use to live in Brea, Ca, and just about everyone had

bars of some sort on their winders. Our front window could only open 4-5 " ,

sideways, because of bars. Gareth managed to slip out that window, too, by

turning his head sideways, and then, wiggling the rest of his body through.

He then, thank God, went and rang the front door bell!!! Like I said, he

was a Master Houdini!!! It turned into a game for him.......let's see how I

can scare the crap out of Mom today!!! In this day and age, if I still

had a Houdini, I'd go for the separate alarms that you can buy at Walmart or

Radio Shack. Perhaps, the high shrill noise will scare him.....if not, at

least you can be there promptly.

Take care, Everyone.

HAHA. That is what my son does now!!! What is it with doorbells??

He goes out any open door (Dad leaves them open when he goes outside to smoke)

and Charlie Hart goes to the front porch and ring, ring, rings the doorbell

(until I answer it or tell him to stop).
