Guest guest
Well, My story went rather well and I am not quite sure why. Perhaps because it took me so long to realize how sick I was and then it took the doctors forever to figure out what was wrong with me. I got the SSD on my first try. It did take six months though for the entire process. I can only tell you what I did that in turn might help you and might not, but it is worth a try. I am concerned that you don't have an official diagnosis yet. That could certainly delay things. However, I was extremely diligent with my paperwork and be sure to keep copies of everything you send them because yes they lost mine of course, but I just happened to have a copy, LOL, I think they were speechless for just a second. Then, I was very diligent about keeping any appts they made for me especially the one with their doctor. I lucked out there as his sister was disabled with RA so he completely understood my disease. That was a one in a million shot and I think it is the reason I won my disability on the first try. Go prepared with every document they ask you to bring like your birth certificate and the birth certificate of your children in case you win. Then, I kept calling them to check the status every single week until my approval came through. I gave them like 30 days to process and then kept calling. Of course, mine was one of the claims " picked " for special review in Boston which delayed things from 30-60 days, but I think a lot of people get picked for that review. Also, make sure your doctors are on the same page with you and are going to support your disability. This really helped me. Like you, they had encouraged me to apply so I did. Hey, we have three kids to feed and I am only 39 now. My husband certainly cannot do it on his salary alone. Be very honest with them about how hard it is to do just simple things like get groceries or do housework or even dress yourself and do your own hair, etc. Good luck and I hope this helps. Guest guest
Thanks, Tracie They don't have a diagnosis, but I'm now also having seizures, tremors, hearing and vision problems, etc. My latest bloodwork just came back (well, most of it), and they ruled out 's, and my neuro thought my cortisol is low, though according to the lab it is still in the " normal " range, but barely. Story of my life. I'm not allowed to drive, and my neuro has said " NO WAY " to work until this is diagnosed and treated. I don't even know if I'll have a job when this is all done. Sigh. Thanks, anyway. Hopefully everything will go through ok. > Well, > > My story went rather well and I am not quite sure why.
