Guest guest
Hi, had his GI scopes today--endoscope and colonoscopy. I'd been dreading the liquid diet that we had to do as prep, but he actually liked not eating foods. I'd also been dreading the enema portion of our day, but he reacted much worse to the fact that the oxygen sensor was taped on rather than clipped (I seriously thought we might have to come home). The actual procedure went fine. did refuse to lie down on the donut-shaped pillow because why would a pillow look like that? But the anesthesia guy just held (nicely) and gave him the mask. The GI doc told us that there are no obvious problems. They took biopsies to look for microscopic signs of allergy or crohn's or some other inflammatory condition. She said that everything looks great, no redness or ulcers. I told her that the laxative took a very long time to work on him (he needed two doses, the first Mon night at 6 and nothing happened until early afternoon Tuesday). She said he may be constipated, but after doing the colon scope she told us that he has a very long colon. Maybe that's why he goes infrequently...and Annika's the same way. Anyway, that's our day. We'll get the biopsy results on Tuesday. Sent from my iPhone
