Guest guest
Hi My goodness you ave your hands full!!! When do you have time for sleep? lol I have a grown daughter who doesn't live with me. I adopted my adorable little daughter when she was 2. She is now 9. She has diligently tried to drive me crazy but I am still here. Really, I love her to the ends of the earth but she is definitely a hand full. Then I have a foster son who is 3 and also has his share of issues. My 9 year old is the one that has ds and autism. Good place to vent and get ideas. So many nice people. Glad you are back In a message dated 11/15/2010 6:40:11 P.M. Mountain Standard Time, stamtorch@... writes: †JMJ†Hi all, It has been a LONG while since I have written on this forum. I had became overwhelmed with life in general and just did not have the time to keep up. Not that life is any better or less overwhelming but I miss connecting to a group of folks who understand this crazy life. We live in CT and I have 4 children that I homeschool b-15, g-12, b-8 and g-7 My 8 year old has Syndrome-mosaic and is doing pretty well (actually very well given he has Trisomy 18 mosaic) and my 7 year old, Birgitta is why I am here. She was adopted at 12 days old and has been diagnosed with Fetal alcohol syndrome, downs syndrome and autism. I still recognize many names on the list and see that others have joined. Hope to be more active these days. Guest guest
Hi : How did you get agreement/diagnosis of the Fetal Alcohol Syndrome? I have wondered about that with my younger son – who will be 12 tomorrow. He was adopted at 2 years 11 months. What I tell teachers is that his “hard drive” is fine but his “processor” has many glitches. Of course if they don’t know computers the analogy does not work as well. He is a perfectly fine kid who looks like he has autism but doesn’t really have enough characteristics to qualify. But his sensory issues or his processing “glitches” are huge. What characteristics does Birgitta have? Was her adoption domestic? Both of my boys were/are domestic adoptions. They are also both big pumpkins (lots of fun, way too silly). Welcome back.
