Guest guest
Hi . It is my understanding that MTX has a short half life, and the majority of it is excreted within 24 hours. Since you were only on it for 3 months, I believe that it should be out of your system by now. RX list explains how MTX is metabolized and excreted: http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/mtx_cp.htm As far as the GI bleed, you had said before that you've been on naprosyn for several years. Naprosyn's side effect is GI bleed. All of the anti-inflammatory meds are hard on our intestines. I take Naprosyn as well and my doctor prescribed Prilosec as a precaution. Unfortunately once you have GI bleed, it takes awhile to heal especially when you have to take meds that aggravate it. What does your doctor say about it? How long were you off of it before starting it again? Do you take anything for your stomach such as Prilosec? MTX doesn't affect the eyes, but plaquenil does. You are supposed to get regular eye exams while on plaquenil. Have you had one? a On Sep 30, 2005, at 8:33 AM, ju2346 wrote: > Incredible, it caused a GI bleed which I am still battling, my hair > is > still falling out like rain, (even tho I take folic acid), I still > experience the occasional " eye burning sensation " .
