Hi everyone.

Just a quick note to all of you who so graciously took the time to post

on the board or e-mail me directly with advice or help about my

Plaquenil/eyesight question. I was very ill, and didn't even realize it. I

started on Wednesday feeling a bit dizzy, and it progressed into poor

vision and depth perception. Woke up Thursday, eyes were a bit

better, but my right leg was numb from my hip to my toes. All too

weird, and I just chalked it up to RA meds and side effects. WRONG!!!

Had I not received e-mails and posts from the group encouraging me to

go to the ER immediately, I would probably not have sought out medical

treatment until next week. I had called my doc, he was away. I called

my Rheumy....still haven't heard back from her. I finally got a bit

worried after reading what some of the members had posted or e-

mailed, and went to the ER. Had a CAT scan, blood work, etc.

No definate diagnosis on what the problem is. My vision has returned,

but my leg is still numb. The doc said he felt it was a Neurological

issue, and NOT RA related. Hopefully, it won't be long before I can see

the specialist. The healthcare system where I am in Canada is run by

the government, so quite often people are sent home without even

receiving a diagnosis. I'm not bleeding profusely.....I can talk and walk

(okay, hobble), so they send you home and give the bed away to the

next person who's been waiting for a bed for hours.

I am home, I am alive and I am grateful that there are so many

wonderful people here that care enough to help. I will post as soon as I

find out more.

All the best,
