Toilet training question

Hi Everyone

Asher has had a big time regression in toiling since school ended in June. He

was essentially time trained when we brought him every hour and was in the same

pull up all day ( except at night and on trips out of course). He seems to be

deliberately waiting until 5 or 10 minutes after we take him off of the potty to

pee UGHHH. We are trying to be very nonchalant about it with no reaction. We can

tell he has peed already when we try to bring him to the potty because he starts

hitting and attempting to bite us. This leads us to believe he is aware that he

did something he shouldn't of but continues to do it anyway.

There is little that motivates him but he loves a particular Playhouse Disney

video that we can play on YouTube. We have started to only let him watch one if

he goes on the potty, but he just doesn't seem to care. I think his pull ups are

a little too comfortable for him also and he just doesn't feel wet. Before I

make the investment and commitment of cloth waterproof training pants, I am

trying folded up cloth baby diapers that I place inside of his pull up. Perhaps

if he is a little more uncomfortable sitting in a wet diaper, he will think

twice about it. Has anyone had this experience? It is so frustrating to see him

regress so much and be doing it in such a deliberate way.

Has anyone trained using cloth? I hate the idea, especially since I am now

dealing with two special needs kiddos...the younger of which is having intensive

intervention 3 hours a day.

P.S. 99 percent of poop he still does in the potty

Amy in CT mommy to Asher 5 hrs DS/ASD and 14 months ASD somewhere on

the spectrum
