Guest guest
<< is on Lexapro 30 mg (an SSRI which he began taking 2 years ago when he began compulsively scratching his face. Thankfully, it resolved that problem). He is also on Abilify 3mg. And Ativan .05 mg in the morning and more if he is in a fearful situation. He also takes Synthroid 1.12mcg. does have low Vitamin D. A recent blood test level was 32 which they say is normal, but I have read and heard that it is still too low. He takes 2600 iu's a day.>> Hi, Everyone....Irene...Wow....sounds like Gareth. He takes Lexapro, 20 mg/day, initially for his OCD, but after his first bout of autoimmune induced depression, G's doc raised it and won't take him off it because he says it's the best for OCD/depression. I do know that raising the Lexapro from 10 to 20, initially, made G very agitated and angry. Has A's behavioral chgs occurred since he started it two yrs ago or are they recent behavioral chgs? G takes 1 mg Risperdal am/1 mg pm. Next month, his new psych doc wants to wean him off it and go to Abilify. I mentioned hips because that is another problem that we had with G. We found out at age 15 that his right hip socket was completely eroded away because of his hip dysplasia and rocking his hip bone in and out of socket for yrs. That was another surgery. Of course, we had no way to know until it was so bad that he finally started complaining.....doc said a normal person would have been in a wheel chair a long time before he started complaining. Chalk that one up to the autism and lack of pain/pain relating/limited speech, etc. What about GERD......SSRI's can cause reflux. G was dx'd at age 10 with severe GERD but maybe, A has only started recently. It's soooooooo hard.....we play guessing games all the time. Best of luck to you in finding the cause.....if there is any!!! Maybe, he just doesn't want to go to work anymore!!! Take care, Everyone.
