Hi,

I caught this post by accident or maybe God's intervention. I would love to get

someone's personal experience with H.E.. I have a 3 yr old son with DS taking

Synthroid since 4/2009 in which is autistic symptoms started.

Since the ASD dx, he has been declining over the last yr and tons during the

last 2 months. He is not getting up to walk, we have to force him, he is not

enjoying much at all. Lethargic, strange breathing, bloated belly, confused,

scared looking. Just seems like he is withering away in front of us. He eats

well because I feed him and he is very easy going--which I feel is strange for

austism. He is not hyper at all, not aggressive, just stims and lays around

unless forced to get up and moved with two people holding him at times.

So, I read the post on here about H.E. and went to find his labs from 3/9/2010

in which they tested his antibodies. His Thyroglobin Ab was high at 20.4 with a

range of 0.0 to 14.4. Thryoglobulin was normal at 13.4 with range of 0.6 to 40.0

and Thyroid Peroxidse Ab was normal at 2.7 with a range of 0.0 to 3.9.

His thryoid levels are normal since treated with Synthroid.

Any thoughts or any other child with dual dx have this type of fatigue.

Beth
