<< Haylee had a Barium swallow test a few yrs ago and she was fine.

Could it still be reflux? I mean, if it didnt show reflux when she was

younger,

could she all of a sudden develop it now?>>

Hi, Everyone.........I am sure it can develop at any time,

especially since the child is growing. I am not sure how a Barium swallow

would

show if GERD was occurring at nighttime. Only an endoscopy will show if

the esophagus is eroded or inflamed from GERD. Also, Gareth NEVER spit up

when he had reflux or as an infant. Perhaps, if you don't want to go the

gastro route, you could ask her PCP for a trial dose of Prilosec or similar

med, and see if it affects her behavior over the next two weeks.

<< was on this trip to see the sites and meet new people.>>

Sara...well, then, that wouldn't work for us. Gareth's idea of a great

vacation is to get into the hotel room, remove his braces/shoes, and veg out

till the next hotel. It's M & D who want to go out and do the exciting

*things.* wouldn't see much with Gareth!!!

Kris.....Gareth does not cry, either. He has awaken a few times from

surgeries in panic/screaming, but never cries as in pain or ear infections,

etc. It is a bit embarrassing at funerals (his grandpa's, friends) where he

would go up to people and ask " what wrong? " because they were crying. He

doesn't grasp the concept of crying equals emotional heartache, etc, too.

Take care, Everyone.

Margaret
