Guest guest
My son is 14 and lack of sleep has been an on going issue for him and us. We are trying ativan now....sometimes it works and sometimes not. It works the best when I take it!!! lol To: From: megsoracco@... And is up from that wake-up time for a few hours and then asleep at 6 (needs to get up at 7). We are all suffering from this schedule! Is there anything other than melatonin or benadryl? We try both and it never helps her to sleep all through the night.
Guest guest
Did you try the slow-release melatonin? Valerian also works well, but run it by her Dr first. It's great stuff! They sell " Kids Valerian " at Whole Foods. Another good one is Rescue Remedy. There's a nighttime formula--search " Bach Flower Rescue Remedy " online and see what you get. I use Rescue Remedy, myself! Sent from my iPhone So , 7, is still not sleeping well. She gets 3mg melatonin at night and will sleep from about 8 to 1 or 2. Guest guest
we use a 2mg slow release melatonin for my 14 yr old and it has worked like a charm since 2008. He used to wake up at 3a.m. and party until 6a.m. and then not want to get up for school. He is happy when he wakes up now. Ativan had the reverse affect on my son. However I know that there are people on this list that claim their children cannot take melatonin. Everyone is different. Guest guest
We've been dealing with this for a long time. We also did Benedryl and meletonin. Finally, this summer we started on .1 mg clonidine and that still didn't work. We then started the GF/CF diet AND increased to 2 pills. She's sleeping now. Not sure if it's the med or the diet, but I'm not ready to decrease the med yet. We all need sleep! Good luck to you.........I know how rough this is!! (, 15) > > So , 7, is still not sleeping well. Guest guest
, Maybe her dose needs to be increased to (2) 3mg. Is she taking slow release or plain melatonin?
