Guest guest
I have one boy on asd and one girl on asd; that is not what makes them difficult. Boys are just harder to raise to me than girls. I am always wondering where my boys are, and on my busy, high speed street, that is a nightmare. I love each of my children, but since my first three were girls, I would rather raise girls than boys. Some people like boys better. I just like raising girls better----easy street compared to the curtain climbers. 8) > > > > > > Wow congrats, > > > > I am also preg with my 4th, due new years eve. I was exactly the same this time round being nervous, whereas I wasnt with the other 2. We chose to have a CVS done, (Im one that cant wait to know the sex of baby as well) tests showed 46 xx, so I was relieved, but just wanted to know. I wish you all the best with your pregnancy. > > > > I just recently heard of a new possible blood test for ds, which would be a lot less invasive or risky, does anyone know of this? > > > > > > > Belinda, mum to 3 under 5 1/2 > > > > > >  > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi everyone > > >  > > > Just thought I would share my good news with everyone ... I'm pregnant with my 4th child. I am due in February. I didn't plan this very well as my first trimester was through the hottest summer I can remember and I had all 3 kids home with me full time!! Uggghhh!! It has been rough but I think things are looking up now. > > >  > > > I am a little more nervous this time around that this child with have DS or ASD whereas I never thought about it with the other 2! Oh well. No point in worrying as it won't change anything. Only time will tell. We opted out of the special testing as we wouldn't do anything different. I look forward to my ultrasound though as it will relieve some of my worry (hopefully). > > >  > > > Take care > > >  > > > Ali > > >  > > > > > >
Guest guest
Well, the ASDs mean more therapies and stuff. So more work for me. The ASDs make my boys harder as far as following directions. Where most families can sort of pool together for kids' activities (one takes a group of kids to football practice, the other to scouts), we cannot. My kids need a watchful eye, not because of the activity level, but because they lack common sense. For instance, my kids don't recognize authority (as in, they don't pick up on nonverbal clues as to who is in charge in any given situation) and do not automatically follow directions. They're also impulsive. And is downright dangerous, but because he doesn't recognize danger. Streets are for running in and pools are for jumping into. My boys don't have friends, either...but again, that has more to do with ASD and less to do with being male. My daughter is shy and sweet and has a decent amount of common sense.
