Angie--I don't know about the methotrexate because I just started it, but I

wanted to say that you DON'T HAVE TO QUIT GRIPING. Sometimes you gotta gripe or

you feel like you'll burst into flames or something. I hope you feel better

soon and you can gripe to me any time you want.

Hi - I'm not aware of any RA meds that don't require labwork. Call around,

though. I found that the bigger chains (LabCorp, etc) charge a ridiculously high

amount whether you have insurance or not. Also, I found that when my Rheumy

wants an ALT and an AST reading, its cheaper and more detailed to get a CBC.

This last batch of bloodwork cost me $60 and also included the kidney check up

with EGFR.

Hope this helps.....Doreen :)

Does anyone know of a med I can take for RA that doesn't require alot of

regular lab work and such? I haven't been able to take MTX since Oct. 2007 due

to lack of insurance and finances. I wasn't doing too bad until the past few

months and the pain in my joints and pain from FMS is about to get me down. My

insurance really stinks and I'm not eligible for MEdicare yet. Thanks

Well there is prednisone but that is easy to get hooked on and hard to get off

but

I don't think you need blood work while on it.. not sure though I would ask the

doc.
