Guest guest
my daughter had the opposite happen to her. She was one of only a handful of public school kids at our church. She said I might as well have taken her to another public school and dropped her off for the day. It's a kids thing to make these cliques. Homeschooled, public schooled, christian, or not Christian. It's just that much harder for my son being non-verbal and having a long list of differences. Someone in Jr church told him to " eat grass, cow! " Now we make good natured jokes about the Mooing because we LOVE it but this boy was being mean. He was half my son's age. > > Something similar happened at church with my two girls (without DS). The girls in their Sunday School class were being Snobs and really being not nice ro my girls. My girls are nice, pretty, and well-behaved (and taught NOT to act like these girls). We talked about it and I told them to go to the Sunday School teacher who agreed " some girls are not nice " , but they refused to do anything about it. My girls NEVER had a smile on their face when coming home from church. Finally, we switched churches and they are somewhere where they are well accepted and plus there are more homeschooled kids (that makes a difference too because these were snotty public school kids...not that all PS kids are snotty but these are). The adults at the new church ENCOURAGE the other kids to interact when there is a *new kid* at church, which is what *should* happen at churches. I'll be darned if I would stay at a church where the people or children, either or both, were not ALL friendly. > Just my opinion, > >
