Guest guest
Today Kayla turned six. I won't lie -- this one has been harder than normal. I guess because age 6 is usually we think of our kids starting to really grow up and leave babyhood and toddlerhood behind. And of course, Kayla just isn't anywhere like grown up. It didn't help that I took the kids to bouncy house place today. I don't know WHAT I was thinking -- Kayla can't jump, heck she can't even walk on uneven surfaces, so she refused to go in any of them, even the toddler one. Mostly she ran around trying to steal people's food or sat next to the blowers and stimmed (she loved the sound of the blowers!). Meanwhile I'm watching 1 year olds jumping around on everything. Breaks my heart sometimes. Then when I went to the grocery store to get Kayla her cake, the cashier asked how old she was and I said happily " SIX! " and then turned around to see Kayla (who is sitting in the front of the cart like a 3 year old) licking the handle of the cart like a 1 year old. ARGH! I feel badly for hating her birthdays so much. But it seems like the years pass on and Kayla just stays the same.
