Judi, I live in North Carolina. I've been to three butterfly farms or

gardens: one in Durham, NC; one in Myrtle Beach, SC; and one in Cancun.

Needless to say, I enjoyed them all immensely. Sue

Thank you very much for this site, Judi. It seems that all hummingbirds

except one species seen in NC are considered vagrants. So I submitted

the information about my little vagrant unknown hummingbird. I found up

a picture that I took of one last summer. It really was hard to get a

picture of the little critter, but this one is pretty clear. It shows

those two yellow strips down below his wings. I had a hard time

figuring out at first if it was a hummingbird or a bee. I could send

the picture to you as an attachment if you'd like.

Have you guys ever seen the magazine " Birds and

Blooms " . I used to have a subscription and it is

beautiful! They call butterflies " flying flowers " .

The photos are breath-taking sometims and it has lots

of great info about birds.
