<<If she is having small seizures, basically it looks like she would zone

out

for a few moments and then " click " back in>>

Hi, Everyone.........this is the way Gareth acted and the Neuro doc

called them Absence seizures and started him on seizure meds. He was on one

med after another, for 11/2 yrs, before he went into the hospital for a

week and they decided he didn't have AS (caused by Epilepsy) but pseudo

seizures. The meds he had been on did nothing but mess up his brain. If you

do suspect seizures, make sure the doc knows what he's doing and go through

the week long testing for epilepsy, if possible. Just talking from

experience here.

Debbie.....Gareth has been on Lexapro for over 3 yrs now - ever since being

dx'd with Scleroderma. He's on it for OCD and autoimmune induced

depression. The doc doesn't want to take him off it because he's afraid the

depression will come back. My only 'problem' with the med is that it causes

him

to stutter worse than when he's off it. I do know that there are other

meds just for anxiety. Paxil made Gareth VERY autisitic!!!

Take care, Everyone.

Margaret
