Guest guest
I thought life insurance was only needed to replace the financial support from the person who dies. Do you mind if I ask why you wanted life insurance for your boys? Thanks, Re: / Margaret Margaret, Wow, that would not surprise me about the insurance. Does anyone on the list serve know if this is the case? We were so hurt and discouraged we didn't ask anyone else. Guest guest
I think the theory is that everyone should have at least $10,000 to pay for funeral expenses if God forbid, something should happen. If one of my boys were to die tonight, funeral expenses would totally wipe out our savings. Of course at that point I really wouldn't care but. it used to be that everyone took out policies on their children in the event something happened. I wonder if that has changed? I know my MIL has a life insurance policy for a larger amount and then another one for $10,000 which is earmarked for funeral expenses. Her husband did as well. And my first email should have said, they do NOT have heart problems. But the insurance company will not sell to our children because their life expectancy is not as long as a person without Down syndrome. So they are not considered a good risk even though mathematically their thinking no longer makes sense. Lori _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of cathynash@... Guest guest
These days with so much scence being developed, seems to me that having a funeral where bodies are committed to earth to become fertilizer, is a waste in possibly help to solve the ills which our children attract. It has been our hope and wish that when Elie dies (as we all will eventually) that his death would serve some good in that his body being used for research in to the ds/asd with which he lives . Thus HE doesn't need life insurance or what used to be called a burial policy. I know this is a hot button topic. Open for respectful discussion but this is my thinking. > > > I think the theory is that everyone should have at least $10,000 to pay for > funeral expenses if God forbid, something should happen. Guest guest
I am of this same thinking for myself and my daughter. Plus I think the funeral industry has become such a $ racket. If students can learn something it seems just one more final offering. .. jay ________________________________ To: Sent: Thu, April 15, 2010 2:25:36 PM Subject: Re: / Margaret/ life insurance  These days with so much scence being developed, seems to me that having a funeral where bodies are committed to earth to become fertilizer, is a waste in possibly help to solve the ills which our children attract.
