Margaret, One more thing after reading this post, did not get sleepy

after many of his drops and many other children I know don't. If there was no

injury he would just get up and continue whatever he was doing. He had 2

different types the tonic type and then one where he would just go limp. Those

sometimes made him sleepy eyed.

<<So what exactly is it that happened, is the tonic episode the same as a

tonic

seizure? What's syncope? ............. Of course I thought of the whole

Travolta's son thing as I'm sure you did too. UGH! ........ Do they

think his blood pressure dropped just from him getting up?>>

Hi, Everyone.....Jayne.....he said the tonic episode was basically the same

as tonic seizure but since we know he doesn't have epilepsy and he wasn't

tired/sleeping after the *incident* then it wasn't an ES. Syncope is

fainting. He's had Orthostatic hypotension since 15 y/o. They said he'd grow

out of it but hasn't. His BP is normally low (100/60) but when he goes

from sitting to standing or laying in bed to getting up, it's been recorded

to drop as low as 75/40. And, yes, all I could think of afterwards is JT's

son dying from falling in the tub. As for TIA's, the neuro doc never

mentioned that as a possibility. I need to go back to school to be a doctor

just to take care of this kid!!!

Take care, Everyone.

Margaret
