Guest guest
has finally stopped smearing feces (fingers crossed). My biggest problem now with the bed is the peeing. He sticks his hand down and pulls himself out the side of the pullup and pees all over the bed. I have just the complete zippered vinyl mattress cover on the bed covered in a fitted sheet and one blanket which gets washed pretty much every day now. But this week he actually got the urine all the way down to the side of the box spring which I never bothered to cover and now it's starting to smell mildewy. He also does this on the carpets which I can't remove because we rent. So I am forever steamcleaning. I just bought a hand held one from amazon and I use it almost every day. It's great because I don't have to keep lugging out the big one all the time. I guess it would be good for feces smearing too. Guest guest
Sara, do you mean to say that your son no longer throws everything? Can you tell me what if anything you did to help with that and how old Elie is now? Thank you, -- Re: Stimming/ family events Cyndi B > > > > , Many mornings I was ready for work and walked into catch all > smeared in feces.Yes he to would eat it, and have it smeared all over > him, floor, furniture ,etc. On morning I sat on the floor and just cried. Guest guest
Elie is now 24. HE was still throwing things at 12 but I don't remember exactly when he stopped - sometime after that. I remember more by the cars we have owned - the one I had when he was 12 had the handles removed so he couldn't open windows to throw things out. And our house then had the stripped down bedroom with the vinyl floor. I would say it started going away after 13 for the throwing. And we had a TV on a screw down plate in the house we moved into when he was 15. He throws nothing now except an occasional shoe when he is really fed up and then he opens his bedroom door, tosses his shoe out and slams the door shut. He was not totally continant for feces until after 15 - even had a few accidents after that. He had his LAST accident (and I truly believe it was an accident) about 18 months ago. HE was HORRIFIED! But even getting his clothes off then - in the bathroom, he made a humongeous mess. Really had to sanitize the whole room - but then bathrooms are easy to clean. > > > Sara, do you mean to say that your son no longer throws everything? Guest guest
Oh I almost passed up this topic....I don't relate to feces for my son...I call them either poopies or when I am really frustrated just pain SH_T......... I think of fecies as the stupid fox who keeps going on our front doorstep at night and this morning before I cleared it away my own dog ate the foul smelling stuff.......I can handle my child and my dog, but NOT that fox......it is as if life is pooping all over me right now..... I say that just after cleaning poop smears and smooshes and pee all off of this wooden computer desk armoire....Wes climbs up on the desk right up against the computer and this time he just let it all loose right there..... I remember reading an excerpt from a book by a mom who tried to tell the horrors of cleaning up after her daughter with Down syndrome and she described it as it as excrement.....among moms who know ...fine....but to outsiders I just don't like to make my child sound so unhuman ..I did not like that woman's way and as the story went she adopted 2 girls but sent her little special needs child to a boarding school......couldn't handle her ....and this was a girl who could attend regular kindergarten .......what would she do with some of ours....well, mine at least..... I know we cannot judge other moms......but I love my kiddo and don't want to make people who don't know my world to think I am not blessed with my child.....I am not saying be fake about my life....but not grim....I am not talking to anyone here or even referring to the " feces " topic...I mean feces, sh_t, what is the difference....just sharing what is on my mind about my kid and my life today.....Annie To: From: terese11@... Guest guest
We had MONTHS of the tales of my weekly ECREMENT IEP meetings so I was just trying to balance my clinical view of bodily fluids as a nurse, my common sailor talk, and trying not to offend anyone. I could care less what it is called, as long as I am not up to my elbows in it. :`) As for the FOX - try getting some repellant at the hardware store. There are repellents made of animal urines which are special to each species - like deer are afraid of fox, fox may be afraid of bear. And I use cayenne pepper to keep the squirrels out of my bird feeders. > > > Oh I almost passed up this topic....I don't relate to feces for my son...I > call them either poopies or when I am really frustrated just pain > SH_T......... > I think of fecies as the stupid fox who keeps going on our front doorstep > at night and this morning before I cleared it away my own dog ate the foul > smelling stuff.......I can handle my child and my dog, but NOT that > fox......it is as if life is pooping all over me right now..... > I say that just after cleaning poop smears and smooshes and pee all off of > this wooden computer desk armoire....Wes climbs up on the desk right up > against the computer and this time he just let it all loose right there..... > I remember reading an excerpt from a book by a mom who tried to tell the > horrors of cleaning up after her daughter with Down syndrome and she > described it as it as excrement.....among moms who know ...fine....but to > outsiders I just don't like to make my child sound so unhuman ..I did not > like that woman's way and as the story went she adopted 2 girls but sent her > little special needs child to a boarding school......couldn't handle her > ....and this was a girl who could attend regular kindergarten .......what > would she do with some of ours....well, mine at least..... > I know we cannot judge other moms......but I love my kiddo and don't want > to make people who don't know my world to think I am not blessed with my > child.....I am not saying be fake about my life....but not grim....I am not > talking to anyone here or even referring to the " feces " topic...I mean feces, > sh_t, what is the difference....just sharing what is on my mind about my kid > and my life today.....Annie > To: > From: terese11@... > Date: Thu, 15 Apr 2010 12:56:35 -0400 > Subject: Re: FECES _ AGAIN!!! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > has finally stopped smearing feces (fingers crossed).
