Today it was still swollen, nurse from Cancer Center told us to put warm compresses on which we did....(She also wanted us to elevate J's arm which would entail duct taping it to her head lol). Anyway dh is preparing to leave on a trip tomorrow AM and as I'm not driving these days I was worried about how to get J to an ER etc. This afternoon her arm started to feel warm at the injection site. The RN from the center apparently decided to follow up (it was she who failed to check the IV) and called us in to see the hematologist right away. He rxed antibiotics to prevent cellulitis so I'm breathing easier now as is Jim. This new team at the catholic Hospital is extremely kind and solicitous to ...they just fawn all over her and worry about her. I am sooooo grateful to have found them. Hopefully the GI doc will be the same. This nurse is a love and kudos to her for admitting she should have checked J more often...(it' s difficult, because everytime actually sees the needle in she gets really upset...she likes to hide it under a sleeve and covers). So plans will be different for next week...she has to have 6 more of these. sheesh. Anyway...just an update and thanks. And much gratitude that we're not going thru seizures and fainting like Gareth, or leukemia like or the many trials so many others are dealing with.
