Hi: I missed the conversation regarding DAN doctor's and bio-medical - at least the part that has people apologizing. We had the same kind of communication glitch in a staff meeting today, I wonder if it is spring fever. We do follow a gfcf (and soy free, yeast free, dye free, oranges free) diet due to allergies but we have never seen a DAN doctor. I used to want to go and try it but following the allergy free diet works for us so I began to think, " what's the point? " And we don't have the money for that. Would much rather do something fun. However, along these lines I have a question; after reading about the Changing Minds Foundation on this list serve we tried the fluxetine and Ginkgo Biloba mix. It really made a difference for my younger son. It made some difference for my older son - he is less sensitive and that makes it easier to solve disagreements. But, I either bought a brand of Ginkgo that does not obsorb as well or my Tony has cycled back into Tourette's. His Tourette's cycles in and out. The psychiatrist says this is normal. No medication has ever worked for this. He has lots of facial gestures and tics but nothing more. It just is a distraction as he is trying to read. So while he made a great leap forward after going on the fluexetine, the last two weeks have been more of a struggle - just with reading. Anyone else have Tourette's? Any success stories? Anyone else have spring fever? Spring break for us starts on Friday and I really think my boys are in desperate need. I will also say that as my boys have gotten older life for us has gotten much better. Of course they are only 13 and 11 and by reading the posts I know to keep my eyes and ears open for changes in their behavior. When they were 4 and 6 they were so wild. They just wanted to motor, motor, motor. For us, life has gotten better. There is always hope, even after a regression this can continue to be true for others. Happy Spring!
