. New CDC estimate: 1 in 110 children has autism

December 18, 2009 (WLS) -- Updated government estimates on the impact of autism

in the United States have been released. According to the Centers for Disease

Control, one in every 110 children has some form of autism.

That statistic is a small change from numbers first released in October.

However, it does show a marked increase from previous years in the number of
